My View:

I am a classic Type A personality (well except without the driving ambition... but anyway I digress). I love order. I need order. I HATE reading series out of order, yet I once again have done just that with the Tucker Springs series, which is the combined work of the fabulous trio of LA Witt, Heidi Cullinan, and Marie Sexton. In January I brought you the review of the third book in the series, Dirty Laundry. Now I bring to you the review of the 5th book, namely Never a Hero, by the immensely talented Marie Sexton.

All 5 (well so far 5, though I hear rumors of more) books in this series are stand alone for the most part. They all take place in Tuckker Springs, Colorado, and as such have many of the same faces over, but other than knowing a couple from an earlier book gets their HEA, there are no real spoilers or pressing need to read them in the strictest of order. (And that is saying a lot coming from me)...

So what did I think about the book? Love isn't a strong enough word. This book literally ad me laughing, crying, raging, and anxious all in turn. Two men who each have their own crosses to bare are thrown together by fate, or their landlord. Each needs the other to pull them out of the cage in which they have lived their life. Each resists breaking free of that cage in their own way. I LOVED Owen, he was dealt a crap hand in life, but he comes out of it so strong in the end. Nick made his own crap hand and has punished himself ever since.

Marie Sexton is another favorite author of mine. She writes each story with such heart and it shows in her strong characters. This will certainly not be my last book from her. Also, I hope Nathan will get his own HEA from one of this fabulous trio ;). If you have a Book wishlist somewhere PUT THIS ON IT!!! (You have 2+ months to get the other 4 books in this series read if you are like me an need to read series in order)
